My name is Herman A. Long. I am a consultant of NC Manufacturing, LLC and a counselor for real estate homeowners. I live in Burlington, NC with my wife Francine. I have one child, a son Christopher , a daughter inlaw and two grand kids. I am a veteran of the US Army.

I was the former CEO of Primary Mortgage. A mortgage brokerage business. During this time I consulted with the State of NC, county and city housing department to conduct first time home buyers classes and consultation of preparing for home-ownership. 

During this I identified that veterans were not a major focus of these programs and I have focused on that area. I am in consultation  with the City of Burlington’s local community college to not only address home ownership

but to also include trade school training to re-acclimate ex-soldiers to civilian life.

I was a member of the US Army where my last position was E-6 Sergeant in the 3rd Infantry Division  based in Europe. I was in charge of the division based telephone system and also a squad leader of the base communications division which required top secret clearances.

My major focus is assisting veterans in the area of financial literacy, benefits of government housing and employment departments. My belief is that veterans have proven their dedication and worth, but need  assistance and direction on what questions to ask and what assistance is available.

While being aware that I cannot address all aspects of their life after the military, providing them with valuable information is vital.
